Statement of Faith & Purpose

Statement of Faith
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. This church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. We voluntarily band together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost humanity. The Ordinances of the church are Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Purpose
The purpose of the Sand Run Baptist Church of Francisville is to bring honor and glory to God the Father through the empowerment of the indwelling Holy Spirit as we reach the lost with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this purpose by providing a nurturing environment in which each individual may grow through the five functions of the church. These five functions are worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship and ministry. We will promote concern for the spiritual, emotional, social, and physical needs of our community and of the world.
In order to more effectively accomplish this purpose, Sand Run Church has established the following major objectives.
1. Evangelism, Missions and Outreach: To lead all Sand Run Church members to be involved in evangelism, missions, and outreach either directly or through prayer support or other support activities.
2. Worship, Prayer and Praise: To lead all Sand Run Church members and visitors to participate in worship, prayer, and praise by providing an environment for worshipping and praising our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through the study of His Word, music and songs, and fervent prayer in His Name.
3. Caring, Nurturing and Love Ministries: To lead all Sand Run Church members to be involved in and to support internal and external ministries which illustrate a concern for the spiritual, emotional, social, and physical needs of the community and of the world.
4. Stewardship, Finances and Giving: To lead all Sand Run Church members to give time and material possessions to the church and to constantly increase the number of tithers and regular givers.
5. Teaching, Training and Equipping: To lead all Sand Run Church members to become equipped disciples for service to the Lord through a variety of Bible teaching and training approaches.
6. Administrations, Organizations and Communication: To provide effective administration, organization, and communication in order to enable the Sand Run Church to accomplish its purposes and goals.

Church Covenant
Having been led as we believe by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love.
